Best friends, first
We started as inseparable best friends in Hanoi, navigating university clubs together and learning to ride motorbikes side by side. If you know us, you know we aren't superstitious. We don't read horoscopes, and we don't usually trust destiny.
2016 · A pact
A two-month romance
After a very brief, frantic two-month romance before Đạt left for his Master's in the UK, we actually swore a pact to never get back together — so we wouldn't ruin our friendship. It felt like the right thing to do at the time.
2017–2022 · Apart
Different countries, lost touch
We went our separate ways, moved to different countries, and completely lost touch for six years. We thought we were set on separate tracks for life. The pact held, but the friendship — and something else — never really left.
2023 · Sài Gòn
Flatmates by accident
But the universe laughed at our pact. After crossing paths again post-pandemic, we unexpectedly ended up as flatmates in Ho Chi Minh City. All the old comfort was right there, alongside a new realization: our lives had been lining up every step of the way without us knowing it.
2023–2026 · Across borders
Home across timezones
Even long distance across the US, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam couldn't shake us this time. We've been each other's home through different timezones and life's biggest hurdles. Looking back at our last 15 years, we might have to make an exception about that whole destiny thing.
2026 · Bangkok
The question
When Đạt proposed in 2026 in Bangkok, it wasn't a question of if — but finally. Fifteen years, one very stubborn universe, and here we are.
